Trekking Muong Hoa Valley - Hoang Lien National Park - 5 Days/4 Nights

ITINERARY HIGHLIGHTS

 Explore one of the most charming parts of the area 

– Trek through various beautiful villages along the way

– Enjoy the spectacular views of the valleys, mountains, terraces, and villages during the trek

– Meet and interact with smiling local villagers to know more about their traditional lifestyle 

DAY 1: SAPA – CAT CAT –  Y LINH HO – TA VAN (L/D)

From your hotel in Sapa, our local guide will meet and take you through the market to Cat Cat village on a beautiful road. Make a stop at a waterfall and a hydroelectric station for a short break and then continue your trek on a dirt trail passing through rice terraces. Do not miss the chance to take in the stunning scenery as you walk along a narrow river. The route will take you to Y Linh Ho village – home to Black Hmong minority. Upon arrival, take a short rest and enjoy lunch nearby the river.

In the afternoon, make your way to the fascinating Muong Hoa Valley. Along the way, you will pass through various hill tribe villages including Lao Chai village and Ta Van village of Giay people. You will get a great experience with a night at a local house in the village. Take your time to relax with a walk around the village or a swim in the nearby river.

Approx: 5 hours walking/1-hour lunch

DAY 2: TA VAN  SEOMITY (B/L/D)

After breakfast, start your trek uphill. Along the way, make a stop at any spot to enjoy the great views of the valley. Lunch will be served at a nice spot around noon.

In the afternoon, your trek will be easier with stunning surroundings along the way. After passing through Seomity – a village of Black Hmong ethnic group, you will arrive at a campsite nearby the river. Spend time stretching your legs before enjoying dinner and overnight at the campsite.

Approx: 4,5 hours walking/1-hour lunch

DAY 3: SEOMITY – DEN THANG – TA TRUNG HO (B/L/D)

Today, you will trek through beautiful rice terraces and over old suspension bridges. Your trek route is on a small trail meandering through the rainforest. Upon arrival in Den Thang village of Black Hmong minority, make a stop for lunch nearby the river or in a local school depending on weather condition.

Your afternoon trek will be harder on tiny footpath going up and down. You will then arrive in Ta Trung Ho village where you spend the night at a local house in the village. Take the great chance to have a closer look at the exciting local lifestyle.

Approx: 6 hours walking, 1-hour lunch

DAY 4: TA TRUNG HO  NAM TOONG  MY SON THANH PHU (B/L/D)

Start your trek today by heading to Nam Toong village inhabited by Red Dzao minority. Enjoy lunch at a local school. In the afternoon, make your way to My Son village inhabited by Xa Pho minority. From the village, continue a short walk to Thanh Phu – a village of Tay ethnic group where you spend an overnight in a traditional house of the Tay people. Stroll around the village to discover unique local culture before enjoying an authentic Vietnamese dinner.

Approx: 7 hours walking/ 1-hour lunch

DAY 5: THANH PHU – BAN HO – SU PAN – SAPA (B/L)

Your last part of the trek is short and quite easy crossing several old suspension bridges. Along the way, make a stop by a waterfall for a refreshing swim in the river before continuing your trail to Ban Ho village of Tay people. Lunch will be served in a traditional house in the village. 

Your afternoon trek is harder with a hike uphill. Enjoy the beautiful views of the valley while making your way to Su Pan. Upon arrival, transfer back to Sapa by car.

Approx: 1-hour driving/ 4 hours walking/ 1-hour for lunch
