Day 1: Hanoi – Bac Son Trekking (L, D)
We will begin our trip from Hanoi at about 8.30 am and drive through Thai Nguyen province. On the way, it is a chance for visitors to see and stop by to capture the charm of the province which is exceptional for the big and large mountainous area and vast forests.
By noon, we will arrive in Quynh Son village to stay in one of the local houses. Here, you can relax and enjoy the lunch prepared directly by the villagers at the stilt houses. It is also possible to ask the host and find out the culture of the Tay ethnic community.
In the afternoon, have a short walk around the village to see the life of the people up-close.
Then, we will walk to Nay Lay Mountain, one of the highest hills in Bac Son to begin our trek tour. You will climb from the foot to the top of the hill where there is a cell phone tower. Here, after a hard journey, you will see the beauty of Bac Son gifted from Mother Nature. It is hard to resist the allure of the blazing sun, the vast rice fields, and the seemingly reachable sky. You will have plenty of time to save this moment for yourself and enjoy to your heart’s content.
Afterward, you will return to the local house and regain your energy by having a delicious dinner made by the host family. After that, you may choose to rest for the night or to complete your curiosity about Tay people by talking with the host.
Day 2: Bac Son Valley Cycling (B, L)
After having a traditional breakfast, time for us to visit another village in the region on a 3-hours biking trip. Along the way, you will experience the peaceful land of Bac Son, the fresh air of the mountainous area and the nice breezes blew on the way. Moreover, there will be a lot of traditional houses, mountains and forests await you on the trip.
Stop at the banyan tree, which marks the traditional architectural style of the old village in Vietnam, visit Nong Luc temple, an epitome of Vietnam traditional communal house. This place is not only a culture site but also a historical one since the temple is the meeting place to launch the Bac Son revolutionary campaign on September 27th, 1940.
