Itinerary

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh Arrival

Upon your arrival in the bustling city of Vietnam, still called “Saigon” by many locals, your guide will welcome you at Tan Son Nhat Airport and then transfer you to your hotel for check-in. Your room is at disposal from 14.00 pm. Free at leisure to relax in the rest of the day.

Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City Full day

Get ready for a whole day discover the city. Ho Chi Minh City – former name Saigon is Vietnam’s largest city. Saigon is a fast-paced city with a unique mix of French colonial architecture, Chinese influences, a modern entrepreneurial spirit, and numerous temples.

During 300 years of history, under the name of Saigon, it was the capital of the French colony of Indochina and later of the independent republic of South Vietnam. After the war, this city was officially renamed Ho Chi Minh City after President Ho Chi Minh. Today, Ho Chi Minh City is a modern developing urban but still remain its connection with the past. Not so hard to find an ancient pagoda or a building with French elements.

8.00 am: Start your tour with The Reunification Palace, used to be the residence of the President of the Republic of Vietnam. On 30 April 1975, the when North Vietnam soldier set foot inside this building with a red flag on hand, the whole world knew that the Vietnam war ended.

Next stop is War Remnants Museum, on the way stop to visit Notre Dame Cathedral and Old Post Office, 2 most famous and oldest of classical French colonial architecture construction was built more than 100 years ago. War Remnants Museum with many photographs are from both Vietnam and US sources; US military vehicle like tanks, jet, booms display outside.

After lunch and a short rest, we continue the city tour by discovering the eastern side of the city. Giac Lam Pagoda, the oldest one in Ho Chi Minh City with a huge Buddha statues system which was built in 1774.

Before tour ends, stop over for shopping at Ben Thanh Market in the city center.

Day 3: Ho Chi Minh – Cu Chi tunnel – Cao Dai Temple

Visit Cu Chi Tunnels (70 km Northwest of Ho Chi Minh City), an amazing complex of underground tunnels used during the Vietnam War. There is more than 200 km of tunnels, comprising a main axis system with many branches connecting to underground hideouts, shelters, and other tunnels. You have the chance to crawl through this amazing system of tunnels.

Proceed to Tay Ninh, the center of the Cao-Dai religion founded in 1926, a combination of Buddhism, Christianity, Taoism, and Confucianism. You will have the opportunity to watch the worshippers in their white long tunics during noon mass.

Day 4: Ho Chi Minh City – Mekong Delta

The lush, riverine tapestry of the Mekong Delta makes the perfect escape from the bustle of Ho Chi Minh City. You can savor blissful peace in Ben Tre where they can explore orchards, farms, and fisheries and survey the scenery by bike or from a boat.

Enjoy the fresh air and immerse yourself in the tranquility in this part of the countryside in Mekong Delta, still untouched by tourism.

Mekong Delta

Board on a long tail boat and experience the diversity of the Mekong waterways first hand as you explore fish farms and exotic fruit farms. Touring the orchards, paddy fields and swamplands of the Mekong Delta, a boat trip along the river to visit a brick kiln factory, a coconut processing workshop and a local mat-weaving house. Visit a quiet village where you can have a short walk to experience real Delta village life. Enjoy some local fresh fruits. Take Xe Loi ride (a kind of modern motorized rickshaw) or cycling tour to explore around the village under coconut row. Have lunch at a riverside restaurant.

After lunch, we take rowing sampan along the water coconut canals with the beautiful tropical scenery. We end the tour by taking the boat back to the pier and return to Saigon.

Day 5: Departure

Have leisure time before your departure. You are welcome to join our interesting optional excursions in and around Ho Chi Minh City, such as our Good Morning Saigon! tour.

Please note that the hotel check-out time is at 12.00 pm. A late check-out can be arranged subject to room availability and a surcharge will be applied.

Transfer to the airport in Ho Chi Minh City for your onward flight. Tour ends after arriving at the airport.
